Robert J. Carrier, 99, of Kensington, loving husband of the late Patricia (Croteau) Carrier, passed away at home on Thursday, May 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Ste – Agathe, Quebec, Canada, he immigrated to the United States as a child with his family. He was the son of the late Edmund and Agatha (Martineau) Carrier and was a longtime resident of New Britain before moving to Kensington in 1963. Robert was U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was formerly employed as a machinist at North & Judd Manufacturing for 50 years before retiring. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Paul Church in Kensington.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, and his parents, Robert was predeceased by his two sisters, Rita Kelly and Monica Erickson, and his two brothers, Albert Carrier and Raoul Carrier. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17, at 9:00 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main Street, New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling Street, Kensington. Burial will be held at a later date at the Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society or the Shrine of Lourdes of Litchfield.
