Robert Neil Brown Sr.

Robert Neil Brown Sr., 87, of Kensington passed away peacefully on Good Friday, March 30, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Richard and Grace (Storey) Brown.  Robert was a lifelong Kensington resident and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.  Before retiring, he was employed as a Letter Carrier with the United States Post Office for close to 40 years.   Robert was a member of St. Paul’s Church, the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed ballroom dancing, woodworking, and baking and eating apple pies!

In addition to his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara P. (Winters) Brown, he will also be greatly missed by his son, Robert N. Brown Jr. and daughter-in-law Annette Brown of Kensington, daughter Roberta H. Hamelin and son-in-law Steven Hamelin of Durham, much loved grandchildren Ryan Robert Hamelin of New York, Collin Raymond Brown and Allison Elizabeth Brown both of Kensington and we can’t forget his therapy cat, Rosie.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful care and support the Hartford Healthcare At Home Hospice and Connecticut Hospice of Branford has provided during this difficult time.

Calling hours will be Sunday, April 1, 2018  from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St. New Britain.  Funeral services will be held on Monday April 2, 2018 at 9:00am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Church in Kensington.  Burial will be held at a future date.
