Robert Austin Brown Jr., 65, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Robert Austin Brown Sr. and Bernice Jackson Brown. He was a former New York resident before moving to New Britain ten years ago. He was formerly employed at Metro North Railroad in New York. Robert was a devoted member of a 12 step recovery program. He attended South Church in New Britain. Surviving are three sons, Robert A. Brown III and Charles Prophet, both of Bronx, NY, and Damon Brown of Brooklyn, NY; four daughters, Rissi Brown of Bloomfield, Tracey Brown Ramsey of Queens, NY, Kelley Brown Wilford of Pamona, NY, and Mandice Brown Butler of Bridgeport, CT; a sister, Harriet Brown Smith of Bronx, NY; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Brown. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
