Robert Michael Atkinson

Robert "Michael" Atkinson, 51, of Colchester, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Eric and Cora Davis Atkinson. He was a New Britain resident most of his life and worked at Corbin Russwin in Berlin for 27 years. Michael enjoyed fishing, the Lakers, the Vikings, and telling jokes. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Rocha Atkinson; a daughter, Nikki Atkinson of Hartford; a son, Erik Atkinson of New Britain; his brothers, sisters and their spouses, John and Maureen Randall Jr. of Sun City, CA, Aelix A. and Michelle Copes of New Britain, Shirley Atkinson of Southington, Crystal Perry of New Britain, and Edwin Atkinson of New Britain; eleven grandchildren, Aliyah, Esperanza, Erik, Cameran, Madison, Makayla, Kaydence, Jada, Jordan, Sammy, and Evan; his long time friend, Susan Paty of Colchester; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, with a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM.
