Rita Doris Hovanesian

Rita Doris Beaudry Hovanesian, 82, of New Britain, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2009, after a short illness. She was the widow of Leon Hovanesian. Born in Manchester, NH on March 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Alice Bergeron Beaudry. Mrs. Hovanesian worked at Stanley Works in New Britain until she retired. She was an active church member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, where she was a member of the Women's Guild and the church Senior Citizen's organization where she fostered many friends, playing1910 Stanley Street, New Britain cards every Wednesday and taking trips to the casino. Rita leaves behind her sister-in-law, Rose Mosey and her husband Emil of New Britain, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She will also be missed by her very dear friends and neighbors, Edwin and Andrea Santiago of New Britain. Rita was predeceased by her five brothers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 10:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain and at 11:00 am at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
