Richard J. Hartunian

Richard J. Hartunian, 52, of New Britain, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at New Britain General Hospital. Born in New Britain, he was a New Britain resident all of his life. He was a graduate of New Britain High School and attended Central Conn. State University. He was formerly employed at T & C. Transportation, retiring in Dec. 2000 and was A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving are his parents, Josephine Aparo Baruffi and Albert Baruffi of Newington; a special friend, Irene ''Rene'' Sklavouris of New Britain; his constant companions, ''Poochie and Farrah''; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald P. and June Hartunian of Kensington; a nephew, Joel Hartunian of Kensington; his children, Shane Hartunian, Jeffrey Hartunian and Alissa Hartunian, all of New Britain; a grandson, Shane Hartunian, Jr; a close friend, Eddie Kukuc; and many friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:45 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church.. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
