Richard “Dick” Hallin, 88, of New Britain, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Dick is predeceased by his parents Ruth Mangan and William Hallin.
Dick proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a bus driver for Greyhound and NBT.
Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Arlene (nee Ems), sister Betty Jane Duguay, his loving daughters Trisha Copeland, Tracy (Greg) Wasik & Jennifer Hallin, and by the apples of his eye his five grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle Copeland, and Victoria, Royce, and Abigail Wasik.
Dick loved sports. He was a die-hard Yankees fan and Green Bay Packers fan as well as an avid golfer. He enjoyed many days and nights at the Rock Cats Stadium watching baseball and talking with players. He had season tickets and never missed a game, and would host the Rock Cats players, coaches, and their families for an annual picnic every July.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Monday, June 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral hom e.
