Richard E. Bacon

Richard E. Bacon, 80, of Berlin, beloved husband of Shirley Landon Bacon, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Almarion and Emma Nye Bacon. He was a former East Berlin resident and was a former member of St Gabriel Episcopal Church. Richard was employed at Genoni Construction Co. and later at Sherry Cup before retiring. He was an avid bingo player and enjoyed fishing, hunting, his walks with Otto. In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by a sister, Katherine Genoni of Kensington; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven brothers and sister, Charlie, Hazel Art, Lillian Eva Robert and Allie. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
