Ricardo Aponte-Rivera

Ricardo Aponte-Rivera, 70, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026.

Born in Caugas, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Francisco Cotto and Maria Luisa Rivera. Ricardo was a former resident of Boston, MA before moving to New Britain in 1991. Ricardo served as a Chaplain and Pastor in the greater New Britain area. He will be remembered for his leadership and service in his community.

Surviving are his daughter, Yesenia Aponte; four grandchildren, Mirelis Lozada, Jesiel Lozada, Jadiel Lozada, and Jerantalys Marengo; one brother; three sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
