Rena Massi

Rena Massi, 96, of New Britain died peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2009 at home. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Santina DelPortico Massi. She was formerly employed at Emhart and General Electric and was a member of St. Ann's Church. Rena was a warm, compassionate, selfless person who will always be remembered for her kind and gentle manor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her devoted daughter, Gloria Massi of Farmington; a sister, Alice Deutsch of New Britain; three loving grandchildren and their souses, Lynne and David Mussulli, Paul and Christine Massi, Michael and Diane Massi; five great-grandchildren, Jake Mussulli, Ben Mussulli, Ally Massi, Nick Massi, and Jenna Massi; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, John Massi, William Massi, Mary Jones, Elsie Samek, and Olga McLoughlin; and by her son-in-law, Siberio Massi. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
