Remi Couillard, 84, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Friday at Masonicare of Wallingford. He was the widower of Gertrude (Doyon) Couillard. Born in St. Martin, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Phillip and Eva Rose (Grenier) Couillard. Remi has been a long time CT resident, coming from Canada 59 years ago. He worked at General Electric for over 36 years. Remi was a member of St. Joseph Church. He is survived by his daughter Lucie Couillard and her husband Dennis Stone of New Britain, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Susan Couillard of Newington, Francis and Jill Couillard of New Britain, his grandchildren, Jason, Scott, Michael, and Jordan Bryant, Spencer, Skylar, Alexsis, Hannah and Nicholas Couillard, two brothers, Denis and Benoit Couillard, two sisters Francoise Couillard, Heneriette Morin, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain is in charge of arrangements.
