Raymond Turner Jr.

Raymond Turner Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on July 4th, 2026, surrounded by his loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Born in Dawson, Georgia, he was the son of the late Raymond Turner Sr. and Polly (Telfair) Turner.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherlinda Turner of New Britain, Victoria Turner of Bristol, CT, and Raynette Turner of New Britain; 11 beloved grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Jessie Pearl Williams, Lillie Williams, Minnie Teal, Jimmy Turner, and Irene Mourn; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Travis Kenard Turner; his sister, Ruby Williams; and his nephew, Eddie Williams.

Ray was a longtime employee of Fafnir Bearing Company. He was a devoted man of faith who enjoyed fishing, reading Scriptures, journaling, cooking, music, and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Daly Avenue, New Britain, CT 06051 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain. 

He will be remembered for his loving heart, his unwavering faith in the Lord, and his deep devotion to his family.
