Raul Rivera

Raul Rivera, 69, of New Britain, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at New Britain General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria Irizarry Rivera. Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Pascual Soto Mendez and Carmen Rivera. Raul was a school bus driver for many years. He is a veteran of the US Army and attended the Christian Pentecostal Church. In addition to his wife Maria, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Jose and Migdalia Rivera of Bristol, his brother Lamuel Soto of Florida, three sisters, Awilda, Carmen, and Doris Soto, all of Florida, a sister-in-law Sandra Rivera of Bristol, six grandchildren, Jose Jr., Jason, Alex, Raul Jr., Angel and Ricardo Rivera and other family. He was predeceased by a son Raul Rivera. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
