Raquel Lopez

Raquel Lopez, 57, of New Britain, wife of Antonio "Tony" Lopez, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. Born in Yauco, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Rodriguez and Aurelia Santiago. She was a former Hartford resident before moving to New Britain seven years ago. She was formerly employed at the Travelers Insurance Co. in the claims department. Raquel was a member of the Family Worship Church. Surviving are her husband, Tony Lopez; two sons, Tony Lopez Jr. of East Hartford and Misael Lopez of Hartford; eight brothers and sisters, Aurora Mercado, Awilda Rodriguez, Iris Rodriguez, and Susana Rodriguez, all of Puerto Rico, Jose Rodriguez and Rosa Maria Vazquez, both of Hartford; Carlos Rodriguez of Virginia, and Pedro Rodriguez of Bristol; and three grandchildren, Michael Lopez, Misael "M.J." Lopez Jr., and Isiah Matthew Lopez. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Friday from 7-9 and Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, c/o the funeral home.
