Randal L. Gerlander

Randal (Randy) Gerlander of Tolland, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at his home. He was born in Hartford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee A. Gerlander, and was a resident of Tolland for the past 53 years. He is survived by his father, Lee Gerlander; brother, Todd Gerlander; sister, Kristin Gerlander; and several aunts and uncles.

Randy loved riding his mini-bikes and dirt bikes in his backyard. He was a member of the Connecticut Society of the Sons of the American Revolution for the past 25 years. He served as Ensign for the society living history color guard unit, carrying the flag at the annual ceremonies at Bunker Hill, Lexington and Concord, Fort Griswold, and other New England historic sites, and was awarded the prestigious NSSAR Von Steuben color guard medal. He made many friends in the New England living history community. He is greatly missed.

Private funeral services will be held for family members only, followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Donations in his name can be made to the Tolland Fire Department.
