Ramona "Ramonita" Perez

Ramonita Perez, 85, of Hartford, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015. She was the widow of Rafael Perez. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Anselmo Marquez and Dolores Lopez. She was a Hartford resident since 1963 and was a foster parent for 42 years. Ramona was a faithful member of Templo Fe in Hartford, where she served in the nursery at church, with Children's Ministries, and in the kitchen, sharing her excellent cooking skills. Surviving are seven children, Humberto Perez, Rene Medina, Doris Medina, Rhona Rodriguez, Gladys Marquez, Vicente Medina, and Keyla Soto Perez; her brothers and sisters, Antonio Marquez, Leonarda Marquez, Armindo Marquez, Irene Marquez, Merino Marquez, and Awildo Marquez; twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Sara Marquez, Jaime Marquez, and Maria M. Marquez. Funeral services and calling hours will be held at Templo Fe on Wednesday from 6-9 PM and Thursday, from 9-10 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
