Ramon Ortiz

Ramon Ortiz, 78, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut surrounded by his daughters. He was the widower of Marcia (Rodriguez) Ortiz. Born in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Salvador and Dominga Ortiz. Ramon was a New Britain resident since 1964 and was formerly employed at New Britain General Hospital. He was a member of Iglesia Evangelica El Remanento Fiel. Surviving are seven children, Ada Aponte, Carmen Rodriguez, Luis Rodriguez, Ada I. Rodriguez, Evelyn Rodriguez, Emma J. Ortiz, and Ramon Ortiz Jr.; many brothers and sisters; and many grandchildren, including his beloved Cynthia Francis. He was recently predeceased by a grandson, Michael Ortiz. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
