Ralph O. Lorenson, 95, of Cromwell, husband of Joan (Price) Lorenson, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell. Born in Waterbury Connecticut, he was the son of the late Oscar and Edith (Anderson) Lorenson. Ralph was a former Bristol resident, educated in the Bristol Public schools. He attended the Moneut School of Watchmaking, before serving with the U.S. Army in World War II. After the war, Ralph attended the Gemological Institute of NY, became a certified Gemologist of the American Gem Society and served as President of the NY Guild of the American Gem Society. Before retiring he was owner and President of Lorensons Inc. Jewelers in Summit NJ, now Schroth and Lorenson. Ralph was a member of Bethany Covenant Church, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a former member of the Rotary Club of Cromwell. He was a Cromwell resident since 2001. In addition to his wife of 69 years, Ralph is survived by his 3 children, Jean Lorenson of Silver Spring, MD, Richard and wife Deborah of Chatham, NJ, and Robert and Brenda of Hampton, NH. He was a loving grandfather to Gregory Lorenson and his wife Devin of Montana, and Gordon Lorenson and his wife Christi of NJ, and his great-grandchild, Kailan of NJ. He is also survived by 3 brothers and their spouses, Art and Wilma, Harold and Phoebe, and Ed and Laura; a sister, Edith Judd; and a sister-in-law Carolyn Lorenson. Ralph will be greatly missed by a large extended family, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick W. Lorenson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 11 am at Bethany Covenant Church. Interment will take place immediately following the service in the church Memorial Garden.
