Rachel Lee Macleod

We are saddened to announce the passing of Rachel Lee MacLeod on November 3rd, 2023. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family, was loved deeply, and will be missed by her family and loved ones.

Rachel was born on November 6th, 1987, in Fitchburg, MA. She is survived by her father Carl MacLeod (Suzie MacLeod), her mother Susan Rhen (Dawn Zepernick), her three sisters Beth Martin (Ian Martin and son Joseph Martin), Katy Manafort (Nicholas Manafort and sons Austin and Zachary Manafort), Ella Zepernick, her brother Richard “Hayden” Lamb, and her boyfriend Sonny Steward.

Rachel graduated from West Haven High School, Class of 2006. She pursued a career in accounting and bookkeeping. She enjoyed traveling and spent time abroad in Berlin, Prague, and more. Her most recent travel was to Kentucky to spend time with her youngest nephew Joseph. In her spare time, she loved playing golf, playing poker and bonding over ice hockey with her nephews Austin and Zachary. She was a social butterfly, who spent much of her free time with friends and family, especially boating many summers with Sonny. Every Christmas, she cooked her favorite holiday dish, her mother’s Swedish meatball recipe. She was a daddy’s girl who shared a strong love and bond over her dog Scrappy.

Rachel’s Celebration of Life will be held on November 8th, 2023, at Hope Christian Church, 211 Montowese Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473 from 11:00 – 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Rachel’s name can be made to the West Haven Animal Center.
