Phylliss Ethel Sylvia

Phylliss Ethel Sylvia, 95, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. Born in New Britain, she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Raposa) Sylvia, and was a lifelong New Britain resident. Phylliss was formerly employed at Stanely Works, before retiring. She was a member of St. Mary Church and the Women’s Guild at church.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews, including Donna Santos, Richard Sylvia, Linda Sylvia, Lyndel Sylvia, Paul Sylvia, Frank Sharples, Wendy Senter and Tony Sylvia; and several cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley for their loving care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 11 AM at St. Mary Church in New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
