Peter Allen Von Essen

Peter Allen von Essen, 69, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Adolph and Josephine (Elmer) von Essen.  Peter grew up in Berlin and graduated from Berlin High School in 1967.  Peter was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a long time Adrian, Michigan resident until moving back to Rocky Hill in 2011.  Peter was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling, fishing, skiing, golf, and the Boston Red Sox.  Peter was very proud of his 3 perfect bowling games and high average 800 series.

Surviving are his loving sister, Mary von Essen of Rocky Hill; a special friend, Ryan Kane; several cousins, nieces and nephews including Cindy Porter and her husband Steven from Adrian, MI and Steven von Essen and his wife Lori from Tampa, FL; and many friends in Michigan and Connecticut.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Carl von Essen and his sister-in-law, Eileen O’Brien.
