Peter George Perakos Ii

Peter George Perakos II passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, after a beautiful, fulfilling life. Peter was born in New Rochelle, NY, and recently celebrated his 77th birthday. He is the brother of Thomas Perakos and the son of the late Steven Perakos and Urania Perakos. Peter will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Deborah Perakos, and his adoring children Peter and Nicole Perakos. Cherished as "Pappoús", he was loved and respected by his surviving grandchildren, Henry and Cleo Perakos.

Peter grew up in New Britain, CT. He attended Choate Rosemary Hall for high school. He graduated from Boston University and then attended the Boston University School of Law. After graduating from law school, Peter went to work beside his father at the law firm Perakos & Perakos. Over the years, the firm would change names and partners. He spent most of his career working side by side with his long-term law partner and friend, Barry Zitser, at Perakos & Zitser. Peter’s 50-year legal career was diverse, with excellence in criminal, civil, and administrative actions. In his thousands of court and agency proceedings, he was never intimidated by sudden challenges or setting new precedents. He made his clients and co-workers feel special and he was confident, creative, and driven in preparing the best representation. While Peter enjoyed practicing law and found honor in it, his true passion and love were his friends and family. On just about any day, you could find him playing golf with his friends at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, CT. With his wife, son, and daughter, vacations were the time when he really got to relax and be himself. He enjoyed skiing at places like Steamboat Springs, Deer Valley, Park City, Squaw Valley, Aspen, and Snowmass. Perhaps his favorite place of all was Martha’s Vineyard, where he could spend time with his family, read, relax, and fish until his heart was content.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church of New Britain located at 301 W. Main St., New Britain, CT 06052, on Friday, February 16, at 11:00 AM.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of New Britain is in charge of arrangements.
