Pedro Antonio Rodriguez

P edro A. Rodriguez, 76, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at home in the care of his wife.  He was the husband to Rosalina (Perez-Vega) Rodriguez for 56 years. Pedro was born July 2, 1946 in San Sebastian, P.R. son to the late Ramon Antonio Rodriguez and Catalina Velasquez.

Pedro was a hard worker and man of great faith, he loved to work with his hands whether it was in construction or cultivating his land and taking care of his animals.  He married his sweetheart Rosalina and would have been celebrating their 57-year anniversary on April 22 ^nd , 2023.  He lived in San Sebastian for 30 years when he decided to relocate his family to Connecticut in 1976 for a better life for his wife and children.  In Connecticut he worked in the Tobacco fields, construction, and Agriculture.  He has flown back in forth from CT to Puerto Rico to attend his home, land, and family. He was a true family man that enjoyed the presence of his family especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He loved playing Dominos with all who wanted to challenge him, he always won.  He loved family events, joking, laughing, and telling his stories.

In addition to his wife, Rosalina Rodriguez, of New Britain, Pedro is survived by his children, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Sandra L. Montalvo, and Leticia Baez, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Pedro’s siblings Santos Rodriguez, Milagros Figueroa, Elba Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez and many of his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gladys Mendez.

The family wants to give special thanks to the wonderful hospice team who provided excellent service to Pedro and brought peace to his children due to the great care he was given.
