Pearl M. Chasse, 88, formerly of Berlin, wife of the late Benoit "Benny" Chasse, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Hughes Healthcare Center. Born in Dickson City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Podhajska) Wietrzykowski. Pearl was a Berlin resident over 50 years and was formerly employed at Fafnir Bearing Division of Textron. Pearl enjoyed celebrating every holiday and family picnics with her family at her home in Berlin. Surviving are two daughters, Madeline Dunn and her husband Richard of Newington and Arlene Dossat of East Hartford; two brothers, Joseph Wieter of New Britain and Leonard Wietrzykowski, formerly of New Britain; a granddaughter, Tamara "Tammy" J. Kelly and her husband Mike of West Hartford; and her great-grandson, Declan J. Kelly. In addition to her loving husband Benny and parents, she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Denise Marie Chasse; a brother Francis Wietrzykowski; and a sister, Eleanor Debicki. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Faith in the Future Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
