Paula Saavedra

Paula Saavedra, 76, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Patria Cruz.   Paula was a New Britain resident most of her life and was formerly employed as a restaurant owner.

Surviving are her husband, Vicente Saavedra;  three sons, Nelson Ruiz Jr. and his wife Michele, Billy Ruiz and his wife Carmen, Julio Ruiz and his wife Melissa; her brothers and sisters, Maria Negron, Carmen Velez, Juana Ayala, Freddy Cruz, Mayo Cruz, and Ramona Cruz; and her grandchildren, Layla Ruiz, Nathanael Ruiz, Alexis Ruiz, Liza D. Pena, Nelson Nico Ruiz, and Arianna S. Ruiz; and two great-grandchildren, Jaiden Pena and Gabby Pena.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hosmer, the Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice Team, along with Kelly Smith and Debbie Aceto for their loving care and kindness extended to Paula and her family.
