Paul David Larson, 88, of Bristol and formerly of Southington, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Pines in Bristol. Born in Southington, he was the son of the late David and Nannie (Nelson) Larson. Paul was a long time Southington resident before moving to Bristol in 1986. Paul was formerly employed at General Electric. He was a member, since 1972 and Past Master (1977 and 1978) of Friendship Lodge #33 in Southington and a Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Waterbury. He was a member of Sphinx Temple Shrine since 1973. He participated in the Royal Order of Jesters, the Alhambra Club, the Kaabans Club, the Zemzem Club, the Ritual Cast Unit, the Oasis Club, and a Juris Dictional Representative. He was also a member of the Eastern Star, the Elks, BPOE 1010 of Bristol, and the Svea Social Club. Paul was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plainville and a former member of Bethany Covenant Church in Berlin. Surviving are his wife, Marie Gilbert Larson; three sons and their spouses, David and Karen Larson of Texas, Carl and Donna Larson of Texas, Seth and Gladys Larson of Ohio; six grandchildren, Kimberly and her husband Ryan Kozak, Carl and his wife Kailee, Maibritt, Emily, Kara Kennedy, and Tiffany Kennedy; six great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, June Larson of Vermont; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Viola S. Larson; three sisters, Ruth Upson, Valborg Proudman, and Lucille Mongillo; a brother, Carl Larson; and a grandchild, Anjuli Larson. The family would like to thank the staff at the Pines in Bristol for their loving care of Paul for the past two years. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 am at Oak Hill Cemetery in Southington. There are no calling hours. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
