Paul Abrahamian, 76, of Newington, died Sunday, February 17, 2002 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Margaret Setragian Abrahamian. Born in New Britain on March 5, 1925, he was the son of the late John and Mary Hallajian Abrahamian. He graduated from New Britain High School and Valparaiso University, Indiana, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Paul then served in the United States Navy during WW II on the USS Jaccard DE-355. He later worked at Pratt & Whitney and then American Airlines. He was an ordained deacon serving on the altar for 30 years and member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Paul served on the Parish Council, was a Diocesan Delegate and life-long member of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Organization. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Jeanne Abrahamian of Tolland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Drs. Lori and Paul Pirundini of S. Easton, MA, and Rachel and Carl Boloyan of Newton, MA; eight grandchildren whom he loved very much, Taline and Taylor Abrahamian, Paul, Matthew and Elizabeth Pirundini, and Lucine, David and Anna Boloyan. Paul also leaves his brother and sister- in-law, Greg and Mary Abrahamian of New Britain; his nieces, Lee Abrahamian and Diane Roy and her husband Gerard; his nephews, Greg and David Abrahamian; and two grandnephews, Jack and Sam Roy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2002 at 10:00 am at Erickson- Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain and at 11:00 am at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
