Patsy "Pat" Silvestro, 89, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Constance Silvestro for 64 years. Born in New Britain, he was the oldest son of the late Paul and Pauline (Cirinna) Silvestro. He was a graduate of New Britain High School and was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was formerly employed as a Quality Control Supervisor at Fafnir Bearing for 44 years. He was also part owner of Kiddleland, a former family business at Sound View Beach in Old Lyme. He was a member of St. Ann Church, the American Federation of Musicians Local 400, and Elks Lodge # 957. Surviving are his loving wife, Constance (Puglisi) Silvestro; a son, Pat Silvestro and his wife Cheryl of New Britain and Old Lyme; a daughter, Paula Silvestro of New Britain; a brother, Joel Silvestro and his wife Linda of Kensington; three grandchildren, Kelly, Jenna, and Patrick; his nieces and nephews, James and Cerina Silvestro and Paula and John Saccente and family; and a special cousin, Joseph Lombardo of Wethersfield. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Ann Silvestro, and a brother, John Silvestro. The family would like to thank the staff at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor for their thoughtful and loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Church. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 9-10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
