Patrick P. Cardello, Sr, 85, of Kensington, widower of Deborah S. Cardello, died peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Conn. Hospice in Branford. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rose Cardello. He was formerly employed at the Firestone Tire Company, as an owner of Elmwood Pipe Supply, as an owner of Major CB Sales in Berlin, and at Superior Rentals in Meriden, before retiring. Patrick was a US Marine Veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific with Company C. 6th Battallion, 6th Marine division, serving in Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was a member of St. Paul's Church. Surviving are three sons, Robert A. Cardello and his wife Joan of Marco Island, FL, Patrick P. Cardello Jr. and his wife Lynne of Berlin, Barry A. Cardello and his wife Nancy also of Berlin; two daughters, Deborah A. Cavallo and her husband Dennis of Berlin, Darlene A. Cardello of Stuart, FL; eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM.
