Patricia Nims, 81, passed on peacefully at home in Kensington, Connecticut on April 25, 2012, the day of her 59th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband, Harrie Nims; their three children and spouses, Mary Lee and Bill Aust, Jack and Barbara Nims, and Stephen Nims and Barb Gurr; five grandchildren, Bill Aust, Kevin Aust, Carolyn Nims, Charles Nims and Hailey Nims; and her brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Beverly Sachs. Born in Great Barrington, MA, she was the daughter of the late Mary Sachs. She had lived in Kensington since she moved there in 1968 except for a 14 year hiatus in Leicester, Vermont on Lake Dunmore. She was a member of Grace Church in Forestdale, VT and an active participant in all community service activities. Upon her return to Kensington, she joined Prince of Peace Church and has been a faithful member ever since. Patricia, known as "Ginger Mama" to her grandchildren, is remembered for her great compassion, loving heart, as well as, her zany, witty, laughter provoking spirit. Calling hours will be at the Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St. New Britain, Sunday April 29th from 2-5 pm. Funeral services will be at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Kensington on Monday, April 30th at 10:30 am.
