Pasquale J. Sanseverino

Pasquale J. Sanseverino, 54, of Kensington, Connecticut, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 — Independence Day — a date that, for those who knew him, carries its own quiet meaning. Pat lived with an unmistakable spirit of independence: on his own terms, by his own compass, and without pretense. That he left this world on a day marked by freedom is a reflection, perhaps, of the man he always was.

Born on December 14, 1971, Pat grew up to become a man of genuine talents and deep passions. Few things lit him up quite like automobiles — he had a mechanic's eye and an enthusiast's heart, and he could talk cars with anyone who was willing to listen, which most people were. His love for the craft extended far beyond engines and horsepower. As a skilled tradesman with expertise across all phases of construction, Pat worked with his hands because it was where he was most at home. There was something in the weight of tools, the smell of fresh lumber, and the satisfaction of seeing something built from nothing that suited him perfectly.

He was equally at ease outdoors — the kind of man who didn't need much more than open air and a purpose to feel content. Pat was genuine in everything he did. He didn't chase the approval of others, and he didn't need to. He was exactly who he appeared to be, and people respected him for it. He lived with energy, humor, and an appetite for life that left an impression on everyone he encountered.

What those closest to Pat will remember most, perhaps, is not simply who he was in the best of moments, but who he was when someone needed him. He showed up — for family, for friends, for neighbors — without hesitation and without expectation of anything in return. He was the kind of person you called when something was wrong, because you knew he would come. That reliability, that quiet dependability, is not a small thing. It is everything. Pat's life was vibrant and full, and the space he leaves behind is equally large. His laugh, his directness, his willingness to roll up his sleeves — these are the things that will stay with the people who loved him.

Survivors

He is survived by his parents, Giovanni Sanseverino and Immacolata Sanseverino; his brother, Robert Sanseverino; his sister, Elisabeth Sanseverino; his son, Ryan Barr; his beloved grandchildren, a grandson and a granddaughter who brought him tremendous joy; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Each of them carries a piece of who he was, and that is no small inheritance.
