Orsaline Badolato, 96, widow of Frank Badolato, Sr. since 2004 and a lifelong resident of New Britain passed away on April 19, 2022 at the Jerome Home after a long illness.
One of eight children, she was born on October 27, 1925 in New Britain to Angelo and Chiara (Borselle) Naples. Orsaline worked at the Fafnir Bearing Co. where she met the love-of-her-life, her husband Frank. She was also employed by the Consolidated School District of New Britain as a teacher’s aide and bus monitor. In her later years, she enjoyed taking care of children in the babysitting room at the Powerhouse Gym in Berlin.
Mrs. B was a talented artist and craft maker who participated in many craft fairs. Her love of crafts and children led her to volunteering every Friday afternoon throughout the school year teaching craft lessons to the students at Smith Elementary School. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church (Divine Providence Parish) and an active member of the Rosary Guild.
Orsaline cherished her family and made friends easily with her outgoing personality, sense of humor and quick wit. She warmly welcomed all who visited her home, putting the tea kettle on the stovetop and everything she had on the kitchen table.
She will be greatly missed by her children Francine (Danny) Ciccarillo, Mary (Tom) Ciccarillo, Ann (Tom) LeBlond, Frank (Julie) Badolato, Patty (Tim) Stewart and Joe (Kathy) Badolato. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. In addition, she leaves her sisters Shirley Perfido, Janice Salvadori and Judy (Ed) Tully all of Newington. Her sisters-in-law Carol Naples of Bristol, Mary Ann Naples of Avon, Catherine Badolato of Plainville and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Patricia (Czellecz) Badolato, her sister Michelina (Bruno) Muraca, brothers William (Elsie), Angelo and Richard Naples and brothers-in-law Joe Perfido and Art Salvadori.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Jerome Home staff and Hartford HealthCare Hospice for their wonderful care and support during her illness.
