Olga Berti Quercioli

Olga Berti Quercioli, 95, of Kensington, passed on to new life on Sunday March 18, 2007. She was the widow of Nello Quercioli. Born in Castiglion Fiorentino, Province of Arezzo, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Alberto and Cesira Pulvani Berti. Olga came to the United States in 1932, at the age of 20, to join her husband and begin their new life together. She resided in New Britain before moving to Kensington in 1979. Olga was a self-taught expert seamstress, making clothes for her family. She was a master seamstress at Manchester Modes and was also employed at Fafnir Bearing Co. before retiring. Olga was a member of St. Paul's Church. Olga had a smile that would light up a room. She was a loving and caring person who devoted her entire life to her family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters and their husbands, Gloria and Edward Janik of Kensington, and Carmen and Thomas Baldi of Old Saybrook; five grandchildren, Michael Baldi and his wife Lynn Ann, Sharon Baldi, Lisa Peterson and her husband Carl, Bethany Pestillo and her husband Stephen, and Rebecca Proxee and her husband Bryan; six great- grandchildren, Colby, Tyler, and Sarah Peterson, Emily and Benjamin Pestillo, and Shane Thomas Proxee; and two sisters in Italy, Zelmira Berti and Bruna Arnetoli. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and a sister in Italy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Church in Kensington. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-7:30 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Church, 467 Alling St. Kensington, CT 06037. We offer appreciation and thanks to all the nurses, doctors and palliative care staff at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain for the support and wonderful care they gave to our mother.
