Olga Kaufman

Olga Kaufman, 99, formerly of New Britain, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 at Newington Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Jacob Kaufman who died in 1985. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Ketz Srogi. Olga was a graduate of New Britain Normal School and the Teachers College of CT, now CCSU. She lived in New Britain most of her life and was formerly employed as a schoolteacher in New Britain at both Lincoln School and at Smalley School. She was a member of Stanley Memorial Church, and the Women's Guild at church. She was also a member of the Sierra Club and a life member of the Connecticut Retired Teachers Association Surviving are a two nieces, Susan Brummett and her husband Robert of Newington, and Nancy Giudice of Plainville; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Stanley Memorial Church, New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain.
