Nilda Iris Lugo, 51, of New Britain, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 at UCONN Health Center in Farmington, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Puerto Rico, she was a New Britain resident most of her life and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Surviving are her mother and step-father, Dominga and Santo Mendez of New Britain; her father, Ventura Lugo; two sisters, Nelly Rodriguez and her husband Francisco Rodriguez, Gladys Gonzalez and her husband Manuel Gonzalez Jr., all of Southington; her nieces and nephews, David Rodriguez, Diana Samuel, Christina Pabon, Manuel Gonzalez, and Karla Vera; one grandniece; one grandnephew; and many friends. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 6-9 PM with a service beginning at 7:00 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Christian Pentecostal Church, 119 West Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
