Nicholas M. Cianci Jr.

Nicholas M. Cianci Jr., 73, of Meriden, husband of Norma Lachapelle-Cianci, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Nicholas M. Cianci Sr., and Rita (Cayer) Cianci.  Nicholas was  a former Southington resident before moving to Meriden 25 years ago.  He was formerly employed with his family business, Cianci Construction in Southington, and later served as an agent for the State of CT Liquor Commission before retiring.  He was a member of St. Rose Parish in Meriden.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Lachapelle-Cianci; two step children, Darleen Laduc and William Potash; two sisters, Harriet and Regina Cianci; three grandchildren, Danielle, Cody and Kaylee; a great-granddaughter, Mia; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Nicholas was predeceased by a daughter, Nicole Cianci; and by three brothers, David, Richard, and Kenneth Cianci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Ann Church, St. Joachim Parish, 101 North St., New Britain.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
