Ned S. Pipkin, 54, of Berlin, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Blair) Pipkin, passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. Ned was the son of the late John Pipkin Jr. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Fleischer) Pipkin and was a resident of Berlin all of his life. He was employed as a sheet metal supervisor at D.B.F. Industries in New Britain. Ned was a member of the Berlin Congregational Church and the Bristol Fish and Game Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ned enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and vacationing on the lake in New Hampshire. Surviving are his wife Elizabeth Pipkin; his mother Betty Pipkin of Berlin; his father and mother in-law Archie and Esther Blair; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Sylvester, her husband Robert and their children Joseph, Sean and Jeffrey; Beverly Voelpel, her husband Dave, and their children, Michael and Catherine; a nephew, Ray Blair Bardes; and several cousins; and his devoted dogs, Buster and Tripod. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Blair. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Berlin Congregational Church. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday evening from 6-8 PM and Friday morning from 9:00 to 9:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
