Nancy Ellen Gocht, 87, of Cromwell, wife of Ronald Gocht, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell.
Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ellen (Person) Anderson. She earned an associate’s degree from the Teacher’s College of Connecticut. Nancy and Ron made their home in Manchester before moving to Cromwell in 2013. She was formerly employed at Jeremiah Junction Cross Stitch. Nancy was a lifelong follower of Jesus and a long-time member of Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester. At Trinity she sang in the church choir and with other musical groups, and was an active member of the women’s group. She was a caregiver to many people throughout her life, including as a foster parent and for an immigrant Laotian family displaced by the Vietnam War. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, while making sure that birthdays and anniversaries were always special.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Ronald Gocht; her son, Russell Gocht and his wife Nancy of Goffstown, NH; her daughter, Carin Redding and her husband Jeffrey of North Attleboro, MA; her twin brother, George “Bert” Anderson and his wife Ruth; six grandchildren, Jack Redding, Will Redding, Maggie Redding, Britta King and her husband Dan, Lisa Gocht, and Carl Gocht and his partner Emma Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Anders King, Henrik King and Lukas King.
A memorial service will be held on October 26th at 12 noon at Trinity Covenant Church. Burial will be held privately in Mountain View Cemetery, Swanzey, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester, CT. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of arrangements.
