Monserrate Rosado, 79, of New Britain, beloved husband of Agueda R. Rosado, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Higinio Rosado and Emilia Rivera. He was a New Britain resident for over 55 years. Monserrate worked two full time jobs and at the same time he studied to obtain his high school diploma, which he received in 1977. He was employed at The Stanley Works for 39 years and also at New Britain General Hospital for 21 years. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Committee Misionero, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Food Bank. Surviving are his wife, Agueda R. Rosado, with whom he celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on March 21, 2009; three children, Elizabeth Rosado Cyr and her husband Michael of West Hartford, George Rosado of New Britain and Yolanda Torres and her three children, and Ivelisse Rosado Griffin of New Britain; two grandchildren, James Mark Griffin and Sabrina Ivelisse Lally; two great-grandchildren, Janaya Lee Griffin and Darius Jade Lally; many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many other family and friends which he loved very much. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:45 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
