It is time to celebrate the life of Miriam Theresa Cabrera, of Midddletown, CT, who peacefully passed away on September 1st, 2021.
Miriam was born in the village of Santurce in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 30th, 1957. Miriam's life partner of 40 years, and father of her children, Charles G. Rodriguez, she met in Long Island, NY., and she stayed by his side until he passed earlier this year.
Miriam was survived by her daughter Carla Rae Rodriguez, and her son Charles Buck Rodriguez. She also was survived by her step daughter Jovan I. Rodriguez, and Jovan's daughter Mariah I. Banks. Miriam was survived by her only grandson, Dominic Ryan Rodriguez, that she loved more than life itself. She was the best grandmother to him and would give her last breath for him.
Miriam worked for the State of CT at Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in Middletown, CT as a Payroll Officer for 16 years.
Miriam loved to be with her family laughing, singing songs, or going on family outings. Amusement parks, playing tennis, or going to bingo halls were some of the activities she loved. However, just staying at home watching movies or playing games with everyone was her favorite past time.
Miriam also was a second mother to everyone she knew. Whether family, friend, or co-worker everyone knew if they needed advice or a plan in life, seek Miriam. Miriam was always the strong one that no one wanted to disappoint, leaving a void that can never be filled.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain, CT 06051.
