Mildred (Nesta) Edmiston, 93, formerly of New Britain passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.
She was born on October 17, 1924, in New Britain, the daughter of the late Florence and Joseph Nesta. Mildred grew up in New Britain, graduating from New Britain High School in 1942. She was the co-owner of “Mister Softee Trucks” family business and also owned Pepe Pizza. She also worked nearly 20 years at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. She dedicated her life, love, heart and soul raising her family. Millie’s warmth, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mille is survived by her brother, Tony Nesta of New Britain; sisters, Terry Piazza of Florida and Florence Boucher of New Britain. She is also survived by her children, Jacqueline Sahadi and her husband Philip, John Edmiston and his wife Laine of New Britain, and Janet Manthey and her companion Dave Durity of Berlin; eight grandchildren, Ashley Ouellette and her husband Bryan, Nicholas Sahadi and his wife Melissa, Alaina Sahadi and her companion Carly Ribera, Garrett Manthey and his wife Deanne, Ryan Manthey, Kendra Manthey, Michael Edmiston, and Erika Edmiston. Millie was predeceased by her grandson, Daniel Manthey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Church, Kensington. Calling hours will be Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home
