Michael P. Kivlin

Michael P. Kivlin, 69, of East Hampton, husband of Rosemary Kivlin, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Catherine Grace (Kelly) Kivlin.  Michael was a Windsor resident for most of his life before moving to East Hampton in 1988. He graduated from CCSU and was a longtime employee (45 years) of Pratt & Whitney before retiring.  Michael was a former member of the East Glastonbury Fish and Game Club.  He enjoyed fishing and boating and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemary (Ogorzalek) Kivlin; three children, Shannon Kivlin of East Hampton, Rebecca Kivlin and her partner Bryce Snarski-Pierce of New London, Stephen Kivlin and his wife Emma of Enfield; two brothers, Kenneth Kivlin (Mindy) of Columbia, Timothy Kivlin (Yung Hui) of Alexandria, VA; a granddaughter, Gabriella House and many wonderful nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Maureen Mar.  Special thanks to his brother Ken and his family for their help and loving care during Michael’s illness. Many thanks also to all the extended family and friends who offered support and comfort.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  A calling hour will be on Friday from 11 AM to the time of the service.  Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or East Hampton Food Bank.
