Michael K. Dewell

Michael K. Dewell, 81, of New Britain, husband of Filomena Dieppa Dewell, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late George Anthony Dewell and Mary (Harrigan) Dewell. Michael was a former West Hartford resident before moving to New Britain. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was formerly employed as a security guard. Michael was a member of the Moose Club in Hartford and attended St. Jerome Church in New Britain. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the Boston Celtics.

Surviving are his loving wife, Filomena Dieppa Dewell; three step-children, Edwin Deippa, David Dieppa, and Jamie Dieppa; and a niece, Patty.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Jerome Church. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 1 PM at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
