Michael Alexander Davis, Jr.

Michael Alexander Davis Jr. of New Britain, Connecticut, was born on September 19, 1984 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies to Michael Alexander Davis Sr. and Norma Mohamed Patterson. He was affectionately known by his family and close friends as “Popsy ”. Michael transcended on June 30, 2021 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York.

Michael  graduated from New Britain High School and continued on to receive Bachelor's Degree from Southern Connecticut State University and also earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Michael was an exceptional student, and athlete. He was the first student to receive The National Foundation For Teaching Entrepreneurship. Michael won a state high school championship in 2001, earned a pair of Golden Gloves at the age of 25, and enjoyed coaching his son’s Baseball and Flag Football Team. Michael was an avid Detroit Lions and LA Lakers fan.

He was also appointed to the New Britain Charter Revision Commission by Mayor Erin Stewart in 2016.

Like his father, Michael had an entrepreneurial spirit and like his mother, Michael was a hard working professional. He worked as a legal associate at The Freeman Law Firm, in Hartford, Connecticut for the last 7 years.

He is survived by his parents and children; son Michael A. Davis III, daughter Breighlyn Davis, and brother Princeton W. Patterson. He is also loved by a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents George & Kelorah Davis and Kenneth & Ethel Mohamed.

Michael was a warm, kind, gentle, giving, loving young man with an infectious smile. Let us remember his warm heart and spirit with honor and dignity.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9 at 12 PM at the First Church of Christ, 830 Corbin Ave., New Britain.  Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.  Calling hours are Friday morning, from 10 AM until the time of the service at church.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of arrangements.
