Michael Carbone

Michael Paul Carbone was tragically taken from his loving family on September 8, 2009 through a senseless act of violence. He was born in New Britain on January 27, 1978 and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of Helene and Paul Carbone. Michael was a graduate of E. C. Goodwin Technical School. Michael was a kind and generous person who always was available to help a friend in need. He was a stay at home dad who was admirably succeeding at the toughest job in the world. He had a unique sense of humor and brought much laughter and joy to everyone he knew. Whether he was enjoying the sounds of Dean Martin through his trunk speakers or breaking in a new Fedora, Michael had a style that was completely original. Michael was an avid fisherman and always celebrated opening day with his close friends. He also had a great head for numbers and was a formidable opponent to anyone who challenged him to a game of poker. He had three precious sons who he adored and loved with all his heart. He is survived by his sons, Michael Cabuta, Michael Paul Carbone, Jr., and Gino Carmine Carbone; his wife Laura; his parents, Helene and Paul Carbone; three sisters, Kathryn Carbone; Jennifer Peifer and her husband Bill; Mary Ann Toro; a brother, Paul Carbone and his wife Karen; several nieces and nephews; many cousins, aunts, uncles and dozens of friends. He was predeceased by his best friend Chad Chambers. Words cannot express the profound loss that his loved ones are dealing with. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St, New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Ann Church on North St in New Britain. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a fund for Michael's three sons, care of the funeral home.
