Melvin A. Kline

Melvin A. Kline, 62, of Waterbury CT, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct 4, 2021.

Born in New Britain on April, 16, 1959, he was the son of Gladys (Kline) Gainey of New Britain and the late Charles Kline.  Melvin was a New Britain resident most of his life attended McCullough Temple in New Britain and Redeemer AME Zion Church in Plainville. Remembered most for his undeniable basketball skills in his youth.  Melvin loved his family and friends dearly, and will truly be missed. Surviving is his beloved mother, Gladys Gainey; daughter Melanie A. Kline, grandsons Jon Somersall, and Coron Somersall, and a host of relatives and friends.

Melvin is predeceased by his father Chuck Kline, Brothers Michael Kline, and Keith Kline Clayton, and sister Wendy McDonald.

A Home Going Celebration will be held on Friday 10/15/2021 at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. A repass will be held following at the Pride of CT Elks Lodge, 24 Elm Street, New Britain.
