Mary Zarotney, 101, of Kensington, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Apple Rehab in Cromwell. She was the widow of Stanley Zarotney. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine (Kohutko) Danko. Mary was a Kensington resident for more than 95 years and was a member of St. Paul's Church in Kensington. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Lamkins and her husband Kenneth; a son, Lawrence Zarotney and his wife Ann; six grandchildren, Darlene Scarola, Karrie Morin, Sandra Keldsen, Kandice Della Bella, Kenneth Lamkins, and Kevin Lamkins; and five great-grandchildren, Anthony, Julia, Zachary, Logan, and Isabella. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Zarotney; by four brothers, John, Michael, Joseph, and George Danko; and by three sisters, Ann Kasiski, Agnes McKeon, and Katherine Kasiski. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in West Lane Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
