OBITUARY: Mary Richey Edman Mary Richey Edman, 92, of Ledge Rd., Plainville, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at New Britain General Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph R. Edman, former First Selectman of Plainville, who died in 1968. Born in Middletown, she was a Plainville resident most of her life. In her earlier years, she was formerly employed at Westrn Union. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Plainville Senior Center. Mary was a loving caregiver to her many family members, and especially enjoyed looking after her children. She was an artist, and had taken many art classes at Tunxis Community College. Surviving are a son, Joel Edman of Plainville; a daughter, Joanne Edman of Plainville; three granddaughters, Alexandria Edman of Plainville, with whom she made her home, Bethany Ayers of Youngsville, NC, and Ileen Roth of West Hartford. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Judith Edman, and by her step-father, Henry Dalke. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in West Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 222 Farmington Ave., Plainville, CT.
