Mary Louise Clarkson

Mary Louise Clarkson passed peacefully at her h ome in Berlin, CT on April 20. Mary was born on October 7, 1928 in the Tremont area of the Bronx. She married Douglas Clarkson and moved to Greenwich in 1954 where together they raised a family of three children. Mary enjoyed living in Greenwich especially summers when they took the family to area beaches and activities. She enjoyed going to New Hampshire with Doug and the kids to Camp Wilmot where she happily got a break from cooking. Mary’s favorite past times were knitting baby sweaters and Christmas stockings and having backyard BBQs where friends and family were invited to visit and eat. Most of all, Mary loved to shop and find bargains for her entire family. She was a loving and generous woman. Mary was a secretary at Byram School, Glenville School and Greenwich High School. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Sophie Jackson and her husband of fifty years, Doug.

Mary is survived by her three children and their spouses: Alexander (Sandy) and wife Kathryn, of Fairfield, CT, Janice Zagorski and husband Brian of Berlin, CT and Russell and wife Kelly of Allen Texas; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and many longtime friends and relatives.

Calling hours for Mary will be held on May 13, 2016 at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main Street, New Britain, CT, (860)229-5676, from 4-7pm. Memorial services will be held on, May 14, 2016 at the Kensington Congregational Church, UCC, 312 Percival Ave, Berlin, CT, at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church.
