Mary Belasco

Mary Holyst Belasco, 91, formerly of Maple St., Wethersfield, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002. She was the widow of Michael Belasco who died Mar. 7, 1992. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Marcel and Zofia Misczak Holyst. She was a resident of Wethersfield for over 50 years and was a former resident of Berlin, on Christian Lane. She was formerly employed at Veeder-Root in Hartford and later at Liberty Industries in Berlin, before retiring. Mary was devoted to her home, cooking and extended family, and will always be remembered for her high spirited nature. Surviving are a sister, Anna Lewandoski of Berlin, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her husband Michael, she was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Stregowski, and by three brothers, George Holyst, John Holyst, and Peter Holyst. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Monday Today from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
